Links to the wider community

Our school is proud to play an active role within the wider community. We believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom, and we work closely with local organisations, schools and community groups to enrich the experiences of all pupils.

Building Global Connections

We are delighted to have established a new link, through Mr Preston, with a school in Roopdan. This exciting partnership is already helping to broaden our children’s understanding of the wider world.
All of our pupils have written letters to the children at the partner school, introducing themselves and sharing details about their lives. This has been a wonderful opportunity to develop communication skills while fostering curiosity about others.
In school, we have created a display showing where Roopdan is located, along with information about the children who attend the school. This visual connection helps bring the partnership to life and allows our pupils to engage more deeply with it.
Through this link, children are beginning to explore and appreciate both the similarities and differences between our schools and communities. It is a valuable experience that supports their understanding of diversity, empathy, and global citizenship.

Sports and Local Leagues

.Our pupils take part in football matches across the Stevenage leagues, representing the school with pride, teamwork and resilience. These sporting opportunities help children build confidence, develop healthy lifestyles and form positive relationships with other schools in the area.

Pupil Parliament

We are delighted that our pupils have the opportunity to participate in Pupil Parliament events at the Stevenage Town Hall. This experience helps children understand local democracy, develop leadership skills and have a real voice in issues that matter to them and their community.

Collaboration with Local Schools

We maintain strong links with neighbouring schools, regularly sharing expertise, good practice and professional learning. Through joint projects, shared training and curriculum collaboration, we ensure that staff and pupils benefit from a wide range of knowledge, skills and experiences across the local area.

Links with French School

We have made links with Ecole Saint Pierre in Nantes in France.
We have written letters and have got lots of replies. We have already noticed lots of similarities and differences. This has given our KS2 pupils a real reason for learning French.
